Welcome to Wi-Fi Shift: My Tech Blog Journey
Happy New Year!
As we leap into the new year, I’ve decided to challenge myself by launching Wi-Fi Shift. This blog will be a place where I share my experiences, insights, and the journey toward completing my certifications in the world of networking and wireless technologies.
My Background: From Civil Engineering to Systems Engineering
My career didn’t start in tech. In fact, it began in civil engineering, driven by a passion for design and planning. This eventually led me to the world of low voltage and fiber optic drafting, and from there, I found myself in the Network Operations Center (NOC) world, which opened up a whole new realm of possibilities.
Over the years, I've had the chance to work with a variety of network vendors, including Ruckus, Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and plenty others that find their way into the environment. My journey has taken me to some exciting places, such as NASA, School Districts, and Joby Aviation, where I worked across campus networks, manufacturing, startup environments, and corporate settings.
Now, I'm proud to be part of the team at Ruckus, where I help customers navigate their network journeys—helping them design, optimize, and troubleshoot their wireless networks.
What You’ll Find on Wi-Fi Shift
Wi-Fi Shift is more than just a tech blog—it’s a place for me to share ideas, notes, and explore the latest in wireless technologies and certificates. The goal is to build a space where engineers and technicians can come together to exchange knowledge, test new technologies, and solve real-world networking problems.
My focus will be on wireless networking, but I’ll also be diving into topics related to AI and other emerging technologies that impact how networks operate. Many of the labs and trials I’ll be documenting will come from either my own curiosity or specific business requirements. But if there's something you want to see or explore, feel free to reach out! If I can source the equipment, I’ll be more than happy to run the tests and share the results.
Beyond Tech: A Personal Touch
While the heart of this blog will be tech-focused, I believe it’s important to share a bit about who I am as a person. Tech blogs can sometimes feel a little bare, so I plan to include occasional off-topic posts to bring a more personal perspective to the table. Whether it's a lesson learned, a random thought, or something a little lighter, I hope these will help you connect with the person behind the posts.
That said, my primary goal is to provide informative, insightful content that adds value to the community. I’ll do my best to keep things clear, helpful, and engaging.
Thank you for taking the time to read my first post, and I look forward to sharing this exciting journey with you!
